 +martyfriedman666 What you said is flawed. There is no way (currently) to tell whether dogs (or any animal) have feelings. It"s quite a controversial subject actually.

 Obviously many of these commenters neither have a dog nor have done any real research regarding canid behavior.  Long story short, yes, dogs do have feelings.  They may not have all of the same feelings as humans (we have a lot!) and they may show their feelings differently, but they do have them.  Per your question though, I don"t think dogs feel ashamed.  They may know that they did something wrong and they may be fearful of the human"s reaction, but they don"t feel ashamed like we as humans do.

 If my dog did this the first time that would have been the last time. I was so mad when that dog started in the trash and then moved onto the refrigerator. My dog knows that if we eat, we eat first and won"t give here any people food until she eats her doggy food of which I may add is the premium quality. Perhaps the food you guys are feeding has lost flavor that is why she is seeking alternative motives. We switch the brand of my dogs food on a monthly basis so that shed doesn"t get bored.

 You get "mad" way too easily my friend...you are the type of person who has no business with pets or children. I would trust this dog before I would let you be alone with my animals.  You need to seek mental help.

 if your dog wants to eat its because he is hungry, so if you left him at home hungry and he is way more clever than you are- obviously, blame no one but yourself if you found all the food gone.

You obviously don"t know much about dogs because anyone that knows dogs will know that most of them (NOTE NOT ALL) will continue to eat until they are completely full (Some will even continue to eat even after puking from eating so much) which is certainly not healthy. She is BORED!!!I know you have to go to work, but picture yourself in her place, having to wait in a house for hours and hours without anything to do, that"s not how you want to spend your day, let alone every day! Your dog is very smart and that"s why she does these things, to be amused for a while. I suggest you find ways to keep her entertaint during your workday. And go for long walks, morning and evening, so she"s already tired before you go to work. Just a friendly tip.

 Mine have thought about it; they have a dog door and can go out in the backyard when I"m not at home. On more than one occasion after it rains there have been muddy paw prints on the front of the fridge...

Totálně si naší fenku ochočila a dělaly spolu děsný binec.Nakonec jsm ese před nimi museli zamykat v ložnici, protože pravidelně společnými silami si otevřeli dveře a pak lítali po posteli, kde jsme právě (do té chvíle) spali. ;-))

 I also like the fact that the tone in this comment section have not evolved as I always fear they will; Too much trolling and cruel comments about dogs messing up the home etc. They are pets. Im sure they wont knowingly destroy their own living space on purpose or cause mess and destruction just for the mess and destruction. However I would be terrified that the dog ate or put her teeth around something that could harm her. Which probably also was partly the reason for making this video. To find that out. Ive only ever once, personally, seen a dog do her tricks in my vet clinic where she clearly sniffed the treats in my pocket but while going around a half-corner to discuss some info and paperwork with the owner, she just decided to be sure the treats were not hidden in any of the drawers in the consultation room. Thank god she knew not to try and eat anything harmful and that we heard her and that no medicines or equipment is kept unlocked and below the "standing on 4 feet" level.

 I think my dog has learned how to open both my refrigerator & my freezer. On Christmas Eve I came back into my bedroom to find both the refrigerator & freezer doors open. At first I thought that someone had been in my room while I was out talking to the family, but I was always within sight of my bedroom door, and I didn"t see anyone go in or out. (And the family knows that my bedroom is strictly off limits unless I"m in there.) Still I knew the doors didn"t open themselves, and everyone denied being in there, so I checked the security video. (We have a CCTV system, and one of the cameras is pointed at my bedroom door.) The only "person" who had gone into my room was Baby, my 3y/o Shih Tzu. I knew she was looking awful guilty about something! Fortunately I only keep drinks in that refrigerator, and she isn"t big enough to reach the ice cream in the back of the freezer, otherwise I"m sure we would have had a bit of a mess!

 +Jill Branom its not cruel its educational. like when I taught my son to not talk to strangers by having a homeless man kidnap him and keep him in the sewers for a few weeks. Boy you shoulda seen the look on his face when we came to get him. The plan worked better then expected too. not only does he not talk to strangers but he doesn"t talk at all. sometimes he"ll scream in his sleep but we usually just send him to the shed by that point.
