New MKBHD Video is live - Attended my first Apple event today, and spent a lot of time with 1 thing. The insane 2015 Macbook. The New Macbook Impressions!Feel free to +1/Share if you enjoy!
Look i"m sure the engineering costs of developing this thing were really high. Its a technical marvel that something like this is even possible. But as a consumer I feel like this thing is a huge fucking ripoff. So you want me to pay $1200 for a dual core processor with ONE USB port?! No way.I get that they need to make their money back, but the least they could do is match the retail price with the value of the machine.
I didn"t say that you could plug a USB-A into it; the only thing I said was that it HAD a USB port. Thanks for your insight, however.
+Gerad GuitrezNo it seems you"re the only ignorant one, stop gagging on apples cock and open your eyes. YOU"RE apples target demographic, the idiots who will buy anything they shit out and defend when there is nothing to defend at all.
I don"t think this laptop is even for the student that wants to do note taking. I"m a student that takes lots of notes for university on my laptop and not even I would spend $1300 just for a note-taking laptop. With that kinda money, I could soup up my dorm with a small LCD TV, a PS4, a decent small netbook and still have enough money to buy all my school textbooks. It"s just not really worth it to buy just for note-taking/everyday browsing. Not to mention all the adapters that are needed to utilize important ports such as HDMI, USB, and SD Card. Those adapters would probably rack up an additional $100-150. It"s just not worth spending $1400 on a very pretty laptop that isn"t very fast...
LOL take notes! that"s the benchmark... guys let me present you the pencil and the paper...
5:11 QUINTA!
OMG YAS QUINTA <3 data-blogger-escaped-br="">
+Wilson Walker OMG I COMPLETELY DIDNT SEE THAT
I can see every Starbucks drinking hipster buying one of these.
I"m a hipster, Starbucks coffee sucks. That shit tastes burnt.
I will buy it and take it to my local Starbucks and drink a pussy latte.
4:12 Holy crap, I"m even more terrified of bees now. Look at those goddamn eyes.
Finally, someone pointing out the most important part of this video...
Someone else mentioned that those are just water droplets on the eyes, but it"s also neither bee nor wasp - just a simple hoverfly! :)
i am worried about the temperature. No air circulation will cause it to heat up quickly
+Timothy McSwain totally agree
This is an AWESOME facebook machine....Seriously this thing is terrible.
+Aaron Trace The whole "2 grand gaming computer" just made you look like a damn fool.Like I said and I reiterate it. No self respecting PC gamer uses a laptop, period. You can"t get the same experience period. If you do not think having an iPhone is bending down to apple then you"re truly a fool. Everything has to go through them, and they take full responsibility for features that they didn"t invent like Icloud. And how they pride themselves in security and devs hack and jailbreak iOS in a matter of weeks. That"s what it is, a jailbroken iPhone is as good as a untouched Android device. Now if you root that Android, wow you take it to the next level.
Asus unveiled the UX305 and nobody cared, Apple unveiled a lesser computer and everybody lost their minds. The UX305, has a bigger screen, more ports and is thinner at 12.3mm, 10hrs battery. The only down side is the weight, it"s .6 heavier. I bought it because I can"t carry my G75 all the time and it comes with 5 years warranty and 2 years accidental coverage out of the box. (How much do you have to pay Apple to get that?!)I don"t see what"s the big deal with the new MacBook?!
+Armstrongest According to the EULA has nothing to do with it. You can"t buy it preinstalled but you can run it very legally
Yeah but its a windows machine! People might actually start to care when you can order your machine with linux or BSD preinstalled. I"m not afraid to admit windows is complete shit.
Apple is like the pretty blond you see at the mallLooks real nice but can"t do shit and you gotta chuck a crap ton of money to have it. I was gonna say this is for college kids who have hella money but for that price I think the college kid would be smart enough to get a power house of a laptop instead.
+Huang Cheng there are two type of athiest 1st. The annoying kids who try to prove to everyone that religion isn"t real say when ever they go to a church that feel "stinging" or some stupid ass shit like that and just shame everyone who believes in some type of religion by shoving THERE beliefs down there throats like a hypocrite. 2nd type they don"t give a Fuck what religion you like they just let you do you and we just personally don"t have a religion. I"m number two
+aaron urias I do not give a shit about what people believe in,BUT if they want me to believe in their fairy tails then they can shut the fuck up!
This race to make everything thin drives me insane. I"m tired of having to sacrifice things like battery life and now much needed ports on a laptop for the sake of something being thin. I hate it in phones and tablets and now its spilled over into laptops. WTG Apple.
+WHOCARES. Still not a lossless rip, and let"s not get into a Loudness War debate. I actually agree with not having an optical drive on an ultraportable, but to not have one on a home system is asinine
+J You sum up my concerns perfectly.
The lack of ports makes this automatically useless for anyone who does anything more than go on Facebook on a laptop. The spec sheet proves it. Great screen and shitty processor. It"s a neat proof of concept and it"s great that they can get a computer so thin but there are just too many compromises.
+jonoc5 Yeah they are well built, easy to use and capable... but for the price you pay, you should be getting more, and you can... with another brand.
+ChrisBLfc Not really. That"s assuming, for the billionth time, that people should and do care about specs. I don"t give the slightest shit what sort of gadgets are in my computer, i just need it to do what i need it to do. I would pay a premium for excellent customer support, not to mention the OS.
But seriously, what"s the point?!
+MaddRezz I guess that your point about the Macbook air is true. It is a much better option than the new Macbook but there are still faster and more powerful options for the same price. The thing that you get when buying a macbook is a solid build and good design elements. but I"m sure that most $1000 laptops, that have SSDs at least, will be just as fast and most likely more powerful. The thing about the specs is that Apple"s OS is less... whats the word.. Intrusive? It requires slightly less power because it does less in the background. So a more powerful windows laptop at around the same price point will, when it comes down to it, be about the same in terms of specs to actual performance. If you could boot OSX to any laptop other than a macbook, it would be, probably at least 1.5x faster than any macbook at the same price. So when it comes down to it, the macbook (air) is a good option, but there are also other good options too. In terms of desktops its a whole other story. You need a $2500 Mac Pro to compete with the $1500 PC i just build last year, and really any $1500 PC. And I have tried a $2500~ Mac Pro. My PC has a faster boot time even with a loaded SSD, plays games infinitely better, and it puts out practically no heat and about as quiet as an average room fan across the room.
+mateusz dudzinski then you get the macbook air, not something the same price as the pro but less powerful than the air!!!!
Great video and well explained!
+Mittchiel McClendon Oh, definitely not anytime soon. The new MacBook is very impressive, but it"s not for me.
+David Di Franco Why don"t you ask your subscribers to buy you a new Macbook or a New watch, Start a indiegogo campaign for both and do your own review plus you get a free watch and MacBook, You always love free stuff
it doesn"t need to be this thin. That"s too many sacrifices.
+thomanarchos That seems to be the solution for quite a few Apple products lately, especially the Mac Mini
as a macbook user i have to say what is the absolute fucking point of this product? Shouldn"t the next set of macbooks be even better than the last? LOL this shit is a fucking downgrade from the 2013 macbooks. The 2013 macbooks are at a perfect and respectably thin size and have more ports than this piece of shit plus they are way more powerful. Seriously this one has one USB port. ONE FUCKING USB PORT! what is this 2001? Fuck sake apple i know money is an asset but at least put some fucking effort
+carson819 NOT a pro machine for 1300? that is disgusting.
I agree, you could buy a waaaay more powerful machine for less the money, also USB-C? WHAT! Nothing, fucking, uses, that, yet. Apple just thinks their products are overpowered and then raise the price way to high.
Awesome video brother! #ChangingTheGame
+Jonathan Morrison Jon!
New key to FR ΕΕ APPL3 ɪᴘʜᴏɴᴇ 6 plus.google.com/u/0/b/108514152611148279174/108514152611148279174/posts/AfJzy7dLbb9
How is this worth $1,299? One port? What benefits does this shit give you? (Edit): I also just realized that it has a 480p front facing camera...What the hell? 480p shouldn"t even be used in any modern laptop.
There"s only one port because Apple chooses to move onto the future with this product - wireless tech expected for it. Glad you"re not complaining about it not being s regulsr USB port tho, cause that"s a great new thing, to replace all the ports found in PCs.
The most important thing is the aperture size and pixel pitch size of the image sensor, with same sensor size the less resolution will have larger pixel pitch thus produce clearer image and/or faster frame per second at given ISO level at low light which is more desirable for real time video chat
It starts at $1,299 I don"t care how much you use a computer, $1,299 for something that has no USB ports and an audio jack. This thing is obviously for show and anyone who gets it wants it for the name. You can"t justify that price for the product you get.
$1299?? Lemme build a epic gaming PC for $800, get a decent "gaming" monitor, get gaming mechanical keyboard and mouse, then a headset, and THEN get some games and still have money for some ice cream to eat while laughing at the people getting this laptop.
Haha, true!
Nobody is buying this for gaming
I don"t like it! :( i was really looking forward to it, but it lost more than it gained in my opinion :(
+Timothy Chernyak An eye for an eye makes the world go blind.
Those words were spoken by a racist hypocrite, but everyone quotes him like a saint. Ignorance is also blinding.
Apple is gonna start makin $300 T-shirts next
+FutureGameDev More like $2,000
With 480p cameras on them, just what we needed
Okay so I just bought a late 2014 MacBook Pro should I reconsider my purchase
Plus is not meant to replaced the pro. Both computer are targeted to different people
NO NEED TO UPGRADE
I"m not a fan of the price, but it"s neat.I would 100% buy this if it came at a reasonable price.(a reasonable price would be around 600 too 650$)
500$ max
+MasterCurry69 for the same thing, instead with windows in a much less slim package and without the new touch pad, keyboard etc. All nicely put into a plastic body and powered by a noisy fan.Yeah then $500 max sounds about right!
i hope apple go bankrupt in the next few years.
+carson819 What is your point?
+King Crawford They are not going bankrupt...I don"t even work so yeah
What the hell is the point of a LAPTOP then if it only has one USB port, no disc drive, a shitty click pad, and is so light and thin that you could break it with a 2 foot fall? Call me crazy, but if I were to spend even $500+ on a computer, I want it to to AT LEAST be able to plug in a mouse AND my ipod without having to buy a $50 adapter separately. Also, I would rather have a little bit of a heavier feel in hand to let myself know that if I were to drop it or give it to a kid for an hour, it has a way better chance of surviving. Last, no disc drive? what"s the point then? Just save yourself $1,000 and buy a damn tablet for $300 or a Microsoft surface pro 2 for $600.
+Jonny Crompton I understand, but there is no technical barrier to abandoning CDs it"s just more expensive or "illegal". Prices will go down.
I was initially upset about this mac due to this current trend of sacrificing specs for thinness but I now see it was created for a certain demographic in mind. I still don"t get why tech companies think we care so much about how thin electronics are when we actually don"t. I think they are just trying to out do themselves.
+Cameron Lengerich Not available on Windows out of the box, but that can be fixed ;)
+jbenvenga did you even read my comment? One word: UNIX. If you argue that then you don"t really know much about computers. Sure some might prefer windows but I don"t want to deal with the extra stress that comes with using windows.
World"s most useless laptop all in the name of thinness... apple logic...
+Robo Cop wait, it didn"t!?!?! phew! that would have been a bad move on apples part!
I"m a PHP developer. This machine looks super attractive to me. I already use Macs for development, this machine just fixes all the issues I have with my Air. So when you ask who this machine is for, I think a big part of the answer is developers. This is really all we need. Yeah it sucks we"ll have to buy dongles for external displays and power, but that"s a price I"m willing to pay.
Speak for yourself.
+Busted_Bullseye No hate because I can care less what you do with your money, but come on. You can"t be stupid to buy this.
It"s garbage but people will buy it anyway. What a sad world we live in.
+Will Akers No, he"s exactly the opposite of ignorant. He is stating a real issue. This little MacBook scam of a release is a small part of the bigger picture. You are the ignorant one for not looking beyond this release.
+Darshan Davis windows user needs touch screen? PFFFTTT HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. you"re such a stupid funny guy.
Come on Apple. We don"t need a laptop this thin.I don"t even want a laptop this thin and light.
+Daniel Walker no one needs a laptop this thin. the macbook pro is already thin enough.
+papabearkiku Yeah maybe they can. But I myself for example, (I"m a medical student) have to cary like 5/6 really thick books. And then it is actually pretty nice to have a very light laptop which still can go on for a whole school day
Wow... What the fuck. They"ve finally managed to produce a useless laptop. But the saddest thing is that most people will believe it"s the highest-end and most feature-packed piece of tech. Single USB... Yeah a great fucking tablet with a keyboard and no touch screen, as shown in the video.
+KrypticCliff You made a overgeneralization
+Doctor Paco XD If it was over-generalizated I would"ve said Every student... I was using your term of students, unless you meant every student and every business owner. In that case, you made it over-generalized and made your own post void
"They"ll buy it for how pretty it looks" He just described every Apple product
That"s right. Apple is the best at selling mediocre, outdated shiny products to people who can"t think for themselves. If you don"t know any better, Apple is the best.
What"s the purpose of this machine...
+Chris R everyone who criticizes apple= a neckbeard geekperfect logic
Look at Woz.
So what you"re saying is save $1000 and buy a Chromebook?
+Joel Cook The millions of people with apple devices? You know, all those loads and loads of people?Holy fuck fanboys are dumb. Did i say it didn"t suit your needs? REALLY? No i fucking didn"t, i said it didn"t suit the needs of many. Big difference.
+jonoc5 well that escalated quickly!
You"re bashing on it...and it"s actually good. I"m surprised since you"re an Apple fanboy. It has some great specs for how thin it is...and this is coming from someone who hates Apple.
+chih huang It has HD 5300 graphics...I think it could run some games pretty easily considering I can run Skyrim with HD 3000. The CPU might lag behind if it won"t turbo boost to 2GHz+, but it"s not as if it can only do Facebook.
+Bender Rodriguez Scratch that then, I could have swore it was UHD. If you think I"m condescending then you"ve clearly failed to read these comments.
ONE PORT AND IT"S $1,299? HAHAHA
+Gerad Guitrez god damn I"ve never seen anyone so ignorant
cough cough apple fanboy IT ACTUARRY HAVE TWO PORTbaa baa iSheep have you any brains, yes Steve yes Steve three cells full, one for the aluminium, one for the logo, and one for the thinness "cause that"s all that matters!
Key here is the space gray color for the MacBook. Future proof for colonization on other planets in space.
+Scrappy2126000 Haha, same here :D
+Phil Vierno I"ve heard there"s like, 50 shades of it up there..
I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I PASSED FINE ARTS SCHOOL. But I"m pissed off cause they require us to have MacBook. Can"t I just use my Toshiba laptop? Now I have to get this laptop which in my opinion is so expensive & I feel bad for my parents who have to pay for it.
+fitnessmotivation Ask the school why it does require you to use a Mac, since it is most often software orientated, like having to use Adobe or other products. If you communicate your needs appropriately you might get your wish. And the school you want to go to surely does not require this specific, untested model. They just require a Mac, for whatever unstated reasons.
Please tell me they"re keeping the Pro. I"m a graphic designer and need the beefiness and power of the Pro(PCs are not good for the GD field). There are NO features even in this thing. Unless you count lack of features being a feature itself. But I once heard a girl in my high school(I"m not on my second year of college) say she was getting a Macbook because it"s ability to go on Facebook and listen to iTunes was far superior than that of a PC.I would call this the Apple Chromebook, iChrome, iChromebook, etc. This is definitely NOT a Macbook though.
+Fact Police Because Design attracts Designers.. thats why the GD world uses mac.
+Fons Mans That too.
So they want us to carry a dozen fucking adapters? Job not well done apple.
+Raisin Toast As im starting software engineering this year, do mac laptops have a disadvantage with the different os? Or is there good resouce support for both windows and mac?
+Daniel Walker I"m not sure, windows is a safe call but a lot of people have macs, my programing lecturer even has one. Some ways they are better than windows like not needing a custom terminal for compilers. Your call, best look up your unit and see if it requires a certain laptop.
Its amazing. Looks brilliant, something innovative. But I don"t think they"ll sell many; its just impractical.
+Little Lionsuuuuuuure, keep drinking that kool-aid
+SID480 You are obviously not in the market for this product. And I understand not everyone has great insight into the appeal of certain products to markets they"re not a part of..I"m not in the market for this product either, but I can clearly see who this is for.Too bad you can"t.
someone please explain to me who this is marketed towards too. its literally a $1300 facebook machine that looks pretty
+weyzer01 Theres always going to be that one guy “I know people who use this and that” Great, all my friends use Windows laptops running either Linux or Windows 10, what"s your point? I"ve also got heaps of friends using MacBook Air which I find is a great ultra book despite its terrible resolution However all my friends have adleast a general knowledge in laptops and computers so I guess I"ll never be seeing them using this new Macbook 12”.. Even my die hard Apple fan brother says it sucks and that Austin Evans is like king of Mac on YouTube thinks its stupid. Bleh.
Marketed towards Apple users. Who"d use it as a secondary machine. To have on the go.
Not an apple fan. But damn this is a good ultra book.
+YuneShik In term of "good" transfer to "the worse" when you look up the price, ridiculous. What were they thinking?
+doggod106 Please look up the Toshiba Chromebook 2, it has 1080p screen and just $300. This is what this "Macbook" suppose to be.
If you are a student in college and you want this laptop just because it is thin. You are an idiot. For 1200$ you can get a powerful gaming laptop that is very thin yet has proper amount of ports and will be more powerful and way faster.
+Techno sailorpowerful laptops have very little battery life. I would never use my gaming laptop as a portable machine for notetaking. Macbooks are great for college unless you are an engineer. Also, paying the premium for apple products is totally justifiable if you really enjoy OSX. Some people prefer the UNIX environment. Personally, I run Linux on a gaming laptop, but only an idiot would denounce an apple computer as useless. They are brilliantly engineered and targetted at a specific audience.
+Matthew Nelson once again. i am talking about personal preference. in my college there are power outlets all over the place. so having low battery wont concern me.
Buy a google chromebook, slap an apple sticker on the back of it and there you have it. The new macbook
and suddenly,the new chromebook emerges
+SirRobertoGaming the new Pixel 2 looks pretty nice actually. And it"s cheaper than this with more ports. I"d still have a Windows machine though as a personal preference.
so...basically....a glorified netbook selling for $1,300... apple really knows people are stupid enough to buy this
Yes!!! I thought I was the only one who thought that! +xxroyalxtigerxx
+Onel Benjamin and as a keyboard person their whole new "Stainless caps" or whatever they chose to call them is horrific in a couple years the keyboard won"t even function
Why do a lot of students use Macbooks? Mac os isn"t even good
+Kiko7210 All of which you can do on a cheap laptop PC. Asus has a laptop that is actually thinner than this although it doesn"t matter to me. It has around the same specs but.. its atleast 600 dollars cheaper.
Am I the only Android fan who got excited about this Macbook? I mean, I don"t like iPhones because it is falling behind other Android phones, but this Macbook is kilometers ahead of other laptops available in terms of its technology. I really will consider getting one of this.
+bodrulm1 It has a headphone, and yes I really think it is a major drawback that you can"t plug in a USB drive without making an octopus out of your Macbook using all those cradles. However I still think its compactness out weigh this major drawback.
+Aaron Yang Yes
Really impressed with your videos, not so much with this macbook because it seems overpriced.
Same here ^^Btw.. I love your channel!!!! <3 data-blogger-escaped-:d="" data-blogger-escaped-br="">
tnx :)
Woah i never knew a laptop that thin can exist
+Danyal T It doesn"t run OS X though. Oh well… they tried.
yeah true
Adobe does not exactly fly with the Intel HD GPU.Games from 2007 still run annoyingly slow.Battery life is still not stelar despite these compromises.
+=Jay= Than he has the gift. Because everyone else only gets about 15 to 25 FPS on the lowest settings.I certainly would not buy a used car from your friend.
+Lancelot Xavier Haha i wouldnt eather..
The New Macbook Impressions!: http://youtu.be/GttoIyB_lEQOh. My.God.Look at it. Just fucking look at it. ._. Expensive af.
+Timothy McSwain it makes me sad. Real sad. There will be people buying it.
+Rhutwik Inamdar Yep. It has no extra features than the $349 model, so anyone who buys it is officially an idiot.
Hey MKBHD would this be a good choice for programming/coding for university?
If you have the money, go for the pro. otherwise, the air is great! the pro is even greater now that they"re saying about 10hrs battery life. I have the air right now and I love it. I"m very early in programming, but so far have done Python and Java on this just fine. It"s actually incredible when you can go to class, sit wherever you want, and not have to worry about sitting by the nearest power outlet in each class. I let my laptop charge at night every 1-2 days because the battery life is so bloody long. Plus if you want a good Linux environment you can virtualize no problem. I"d say for that matter get the pro. However virtualization on the air works decently. just remember low clock speed CPU and 4GB RAM
At this price? No, but if you have the money sure. A comp for coding doesn"t require to splash out.
Linux > Windows > MAC OS X. (grabs popcorn)
Yes to most of those working fine for me actually, how long has it been since you last gave linux a spin? It improves by leaps and bounds each year.
+Anthony Whyte Like a week ago. Latest Ubuntu, EvolveOS, CrunchBang, Debian, Gentoo. I try once a month to see if I can switch. I"m getting close with the release of SteamOS and Steambox.I have an MSI GS70 Stealth Notebook, two video cards, intel onboard and GTX 765m. It barely works properly on Windows. Shadowplay on Linux? Get what I"m saying? Linux is no where near the amount of practical uses Windows has right now. As a simple desktop, workstation or server it probably excels especially due to it"s high customization and price point.
The processor can turbo boost to 2.3 ghz so do you think it would be possible to play games such as Gary"s Mod, RPG Maker, Left 4 Dead 2, and Minecraft with it?
Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro and Aperature are simply the three best proffesional editing programs in the world. Only Adobe and Maya come on par with them. Enough said.
+Harmonyww Exactly."What can you do with your Samsung I cant with my iPhone?""Change icons and make custom skins!!!!""Well have you made your own theme?""No why would I, I am not an artist/have no time"Ugh.
".....Turns a simple elegant machine to an octopus"Lol, that was hilarious! What a waste.I"d rather get a simple tablet, what"s the point of having amazing display but no power ?1300$ and no adapter.Fail apple, FAIL.
They pretty much lost their ability to innovate after Steve Jobs died :(
+Nia Damn fking right !
I"m SOOOO glad I saw this video! My birthday is coming up soon and I was looking for a laptop that I could use for gaming and schoolwork. I looked into this one and though it would be a good choice compared to other ones I"ve looked at. Apple has really gone down in the dumps with this one. A computer shouldn"t be too thin that it can"t even have a USB port. I"m surprised. First taking ideas from android, then making a practically useless computer for and selling it for probably 3 times what it should be marketed for... Wow
Macbook : $1300Dual 1.30ghz4gb ramdesktop pc of the same price: (or less)Processor : Intel Core i7 4790k 4.0ghz CPUMemory : 16gb G skillMotherboard: Asrock z97mGPU: AMD r9 290x 8gb gddr5Case: deepcool tesseractPsu: Evga 750wSSD: Transcend 512gb SSDTotal : about $1250what do you think is the better one? (and woah, the desktop has more then 1 usb port!) stop jerking off to the apple logo and get the desktop.
+=Jay= You"re wrong. They"re definitely the best in SSD performance. Apple was the first and so far only manufacturer to use PCI-e SSDs in their laptops. They"re also the best in display and trackpad as well.
+Chris Mahoney Okay hahahahahaha...
For all of the people who legitimately do not get it: this is a niche product. It"s not meant to be the computer for everybody. It may be the computer for one who pretty much needs an iPad-sized/-weighted laptop, who also is almost completely wireless and is seriously looking for a fashionable computer.I could see myself buying this computer if I wasn"t already in love with a 15-inch display size. I already use AirDrop to transfer all of my files (that"s if iCloud doesn"t already do it), I have an Apple TV if I ever needed to use a bigger screen, and 9-hours for battery life is more than I actually use my computer for daily, and I"m a writer, so I use it often. At the end of the day, this is a fabulous design to me. Functionally, it does everything that I need a machine with OS X, and with less ports, it just there are far less distractions than there"s ever been. This is the prettiest computer that I"ve ever seen; I might just sell my MacBook Pro with Retina Display to get this.
+Mr Mike whatever floats your boat.
Get a Chromebook for less. Or get an iPad for less. Or if you actually want to do more than surf the web and really want to accomplish something, get a Surface or Lenovo Yoga. But this thing is overpriced and under-useful.
yeah, hopefully other companies don"t think this is what they"re gonna compete with, so they"ll sacrifice a lot of ports and features just so it looks similar to this Macbook.
I hope not. I didn"t get a surface for that reason. I needed a new computer for work and travel and I wanted a surface. Got a Lenovo Yoga instead.
That"s awful
+D. Brown A day in this context means a workday for the typical person. 24 hours is not a typical time to be awake.
+lampard4 the very fact you need to clarify what Apple was trying to say is my very point. Its misleading information by design. What"s more damning is the media takes it and runs with it those making what is clearly false appear to be true.
So apple sacrifices more function for form. There is nothing "sexy" about having adaptors sticking out the side. And you can only have 1 adapter in, rendering this thing useless other than using it as a tablet. And it"s $1300 ?!?!?!?!Anyone buying this doesn"t know ANYTHING about personal computers, like NOTHING. Apple just needs to release a nice silver-looking shredder for your money, that way apple customers can watch their money get wasted in real-time.
+Mr Mike I don"t know about in the US, but in Aus the 1800p models of the XPS 13 are $500 more than this MacBook.
+Ben Turner I wasn"t referring to 1440 specifically, just anything above 1080 (which is about 50% 1440 anyway). In which case:http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100020039%20600477201%20600451155Basically every premium ultrabook on the market and then some. You seriously didn"t look hard if you couldn"t find any. Some ultrabooks come with 1080 and 1080+ options. And touchscreens on laptops isn"t a windows/metro problem, it"s a laptop problem. It"s just not a form factor well suited to touching the screen. That said a lot of people love touchscreen laptops and MetroUI is actually very well designed for touchscreens. Win8 got flak because it forced touchscreen features on KB+M users. It"s actually a good OS for use with a touchscreen. As for your product price comparison, most of the other laptops in your lineup had MUCH better CPUs than the Macbook. Plus, I found the Zenbook you linked online for 700...http://www.amazon.com/Zenbook-UX305FA-ASM1-13-3-Inch-Ultra-Slim-Aluminum/dp/B00SGS7ZH4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427212348&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+zenbook+ux305So that"s a 600 dollar price difference...Found the Surface Pro for 1,150+100 as well...nice job inflating prices there buddy.http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Surface-Pro-Intel-Core/dp/B00KHR4ZL6/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1427212891&sr=1-2&keywords=surface+pro+3With the keyboard it comes in at 50 dollars cheaperwithout the keyboard it"s lighter with the keyboard its heavierIt actually has portscomparable resolutiondoubles as a tabletand here"s the big one: i5 processorI could look at other ultrabooks and the story would be the same.So what are you getting for that extra 50 dollars? A whole shitload of sacrifices in order to save one pound......if you think that"s worth it you"re either anemic and starving to death or dumb.
Yeah, I have a Chromebook.Bought it new at best buy for $150, has two USB ports, 1 HDMI out, and lo and behold, a separate charging cable. But wait there"s more, all of this didn"t cost me 1200 fucking dollars. Apple is a shit fest, the only people that were going to buy these laptops are people who are too uneducated for themselves, and can"t read a spec sheet.
+Mr Mike lol I think he be mad.
+H4NDCRAFTED whoops
What"s Apple going to next MAKE CARS?
+FrankoRc I think he was joking..
+FrankoRc How easily will the screen crack and will I need to install itunes?
Honestly, the thickness and the weight are just novelties. For the money, I"d rather get a Surface Pro 3 with an i7 processor. Or save $600 and get an iPad!
+cakeless coder LOL. That"s nuts. Yeah +Christof Dierick is right. Chromebooks cost a fraction as much and are perfect for browsing and typing reports etc. That"s what they were made for lol
+Christof Dierick oh. another reason for macbooks:- equalitythe 2 software suites they were offering were both developed for windows (ms word and adobe cc). also, chromebooks are geat, however, they still require learning a new OS for 9/10 of the school. something like an i3 notebook would do the trick for most students, and an i5-i7 for IT students. although, i"d love to use a chromebook, but doing it in a school environment wouldn"t be for me.
HOW CAN APPLE MAKE AMAZING COMPUTERS BUT MAKE SHITTY ASS SMARTPHONES?
+Marc Bourgoin I"ve heard of the Yoga, but I"m not sure if it can be turned into a Hackintosh (which is what we are discussing) since not all the hardware might be compatible.
+Samuel Brizuela dude, it"s easy to install Hackintosh on any PC. Heck, it"s even possible to install it on pc"s with AMD processors which aren"t supported at all via Mac OSX! Nah, it"ll install onto the superior Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro.
APPLE REDEFINES THE LAPTOP SEGMENT AGAINApple did it again. This new Macbook redefines the laptop market for the first time since the original Macbook Air.I can"t stand OSX and the whole Apple ecosystem, so it"s a no go for me... if only they would make this thing with a Windows keyboard...
it"s a nice machine, for some. but it"s a bit (a big bit) on the pricy side though. almost an excellent travelling machine. shame about just one usb. the UX305 have 2 or 3. + it"s own charging port.
People bashed apple for the MacBook Air unibody when it came out, then for this new MacBook, and then compare this new MacBook to a plastic ripoff of apple"s 5 year old MBair design with Asus" ugly logo slapped on it. Asus is the same company that built my nexus 7, which less than 2 years later is hardly usable. My 2008 macbook still runs like a champ today.
真的太喜欢这款了。作为谷歌粉丝都想不得不佩服。
买买买
the new stupid mac dosen"t have a usb ports?WTF apple go to hell please
+0505100 Tanki Yes, the company forcing you to use this product, even if you do not need it, should really go to that imaginary place.
if i was rich i"d so buy this and have sex with it all day
+Cameron Fernandez Bye.
+BurrBurr1001 no what do you want
what a piece of shit. It should be the same design as the last macbook pro, just faster
+Jack The Ripper thats true, but this is a downgrade
Probably going to sound like a bit of a stupid question, but what"s the difference between the intel M and the intel atom processor?
Entire architecture... everything..?The Intel M is like a seriously crippled core i3... lol.. like a low power Celeron... hehe
did this released
+Mohana Krishnan K Yes it did
Apple Hater Logic : Lamborghini has 2 seats a bus has 20. bus>lamborgini
+passerell This isn"t 2009. Windows isn"t like that any more.
+Resparxwow. didn"t mommy love you?!
imagine this next to alienware laptops!
+Julius Caesar Try Think pads. With the new ones announced at CES 2015, they have gotten more powerful, thinner, better keyboards, and better build quality. The reason people use Macbooks is because there is some stereotype that Macs are magically better than PCs for anything web related and content creation.
+Julius Caesar If you like gaming on laptops, try MSI or Sager. They are priced way better and have better specs.
Why would people buy this fuckry! and i"m not hating cause i am a apple guy but damn!
+Jazzfather Because it does fulfil their computational needs. Not everyone needs power to the max, not everyone wants to use a MacBook Air.You will see once it is released and for what it is used. Why would anyone use a slower less capable netbook?
my old hp laptop from 2013 can do alot more, cost me 800$, is touch screen, and can play high some decent high graphics games. and most of the time i use 2-3 of my usb ports. i don"t know how im going to use this new macbook at all, its sure is nice, but man, at that price it should at-least reach overclock it to 3ghz. if i wanted this kind of slimness and a single port is not an issue, then i should just get a tablet with a wireless keyboard.
+Jad Collado Because your computational needs are not fulfilled by this notebook, does it mean it does not do so for others? And what 2013 HP notebook do you refer to? Exact model numbers would be nice, just so we can compare what you think a notebook should be for your needs and what this MacBook does for others.
Honestly, I think that apple went too far with making it really thin. It doesn"t need to be THAT thin, I"d much rather have more power and a even bigger battery, a computer I can actually do something with...
+Antti Alppinen Yeah, it is sad, that the MacBook is the only Mac you can buy now, as Apple has stopped selling all those other Macs capable of fulfilling your computational needs.I guess it is time to look at Sony.
I think what Apple was trying to do with this product is make it more portable for people who need laptops on a every day basis and who travel a lot. I"m definitely going to purchase this product because I hate carrying my 15in MacBook Pro everywhere like to class because it adds extra weight in my backpack that I don"t need. This would also be good for people who are on planes once a week for business. And to be honest, I don"t use flash drives anymore. Everything just saves to the cloud now and there"s really no need for them anymore. In my opinion, this was a smart move by Apple because of how travel friendly it"ll be on my behalf and millions of other. Like it said in a video, it"s just will be used for casual browsing/note taking, etc which will appeal to a lot of people.
+Lindsay Bryant I will say that I can still use most of my google apps on my side phone (iPhone 5C) but sadly it doesn"t have Google now or Google voice (has that stupid siri shiz)
+Jared-Daniel Blanco THIS!!! Buy an Asus ultrabook and put hackintosh on it :) insta-win!
Someone please link me a laptop i can buy that has real good quality durable parts and snap from the plastic shitty build like.my 400 dollar lenovo laptop suffered fuck!
lol.. you bought a $400 laptop... you get what you pay for. Lenovo makes some amazing carbon fibre laptops... but only around $1500+.I got a Samsung ATIV Book 8.. $2K+ and its amazing at everything, battery, screen, speakers, gaming, everything.I would say the Samsung ATIV Book 9 is amazing build quality, the Asus Zenbooks, The Razer Blade (but around $3K), the Dell XPS 13 (amazing screen and bezels).
This is less of an actual product and more of a statement. They are once again going for a much thinner and lighter form factor. They"re also solely relying on USB-C which is clearly showing what they think its relevancy will be in the future against the other ports. Also I love that they "reinvented" the trackpad to cater to their ultimately thin form factor. It is a shame they sacrificed so many things the MacBook was previously known for and was good at, but as I said, this is more of a statement. This is a start to a great future.
+Brett vickers I acknowledged that they reduced their products to the equivalent of actual poop, especially the horrible new industry standard of removing features.I was just talking about the few things they did introduce. I was merely focusing on the 0.1% that actually showcased something.
Apple never had SD on there phones
Apple been going down ever since Steve Jobs died.
+SpamyGirl How so? NotPensiveFace
i need to know about the dolby atoms , thx , m2ts , um4 formats?
+Prasanna Kumar VLC Player will play most of that, though stereo speakers might not do Atmos or THS justice.
Black/Dark Grey M9 Please :)
Wrong video?!
yep lol video changed too fast lol
their call that a laptop for 2015? a 2002 laptop i more useful than that thing
+Exitsigncollection Care to share that 2002 notebook with us? Be as specific as you can, a model number would be nice.
Imma buy da golden one as a companion to my iMac.
shoes how materialistic people think......i already have a computer. let"s by another one.
+H_H Actually I"m buying it to be able to leave my desk when the sun shines and enjoy nature while working on things that don"t require a lot of power.
is the processor to weak for working with photos?
+Mrchubakkaa No, unless you work with 24+ MP RAW footage on a daily basis and have to apply several effects to it.
Am I the only one who"s worried about Apple not upgrading the 15" MBP? I wonder if they are thinking that nobody needs a more powerful laptop. I"m very happy with my 15" MBP but one day I will need to upgrade and I"m not willing to go down to 13" - they don"t have dedicated graphics adapters.
+Indecisive Fella What"s the point of the watch? I really can"t find any. Who would want this Macbook? It"s to underpowered to do any real work and for most of the stuff you"d do with it it seems that an iPad would be the better choice. When I watched the keynote I first thought this would be the Macbook Air successor but it"s obviously not. What"s the point of only having one single port? Even on my MBP I often wished they would have put in another USP port instead of the HDMI (which I would have used an adapter for). I love Apple"s design and this Macbook looks really nice but I think they should consider more user friendliness over design from time to time.
+PixelblitzJust because you and I might not see a value in it, does not mean others will not.
Amazing how this counts as a laptop. It seems like (based on the PENTIUM M) this is an ipad with OS X on it and they threw in a built in keyboard. $1300? No. I bought my Dell workstation with a core2 quad and a 1TB HDD for around $300.Nope, it isnt portable, but certainly a better deal than this crap. I got 16 USB ports, two which are USB 3.0.My laptop on the other hand, was $400 after tax and all and it has a quad core Pentium, 8 GB RAM, 500GB HDD.......3 USBs one of them is USB 3.0. Both HDMI and VGA outputs.$700 between both my machines and I get FAR more than if I would buy this piece of overpriced junk.
+Indecisive Fella I don"t think the ram is soldered if it has two slots. And I honestly don"t see the need for 16 GB of ram at this point in time. Clearly you are more knowledgeable with processors than I am. I commend you for that. Whichever the term, it clocks higher than the box lists it to be. That"s what counts to me.The way I see it, if one is to spend large sums of money, one should get the moneys worth out of it. Let"s price some things to help justify the price. Let"s price the screen of this machine (video) at $150. Let"s upgrade to a core i7 ($303 on amazon)$25 for the keyboard, a $90 motherboard. Jackass"s trackpad $75 at best. $10 to make the shell out of recycled soda cans. A single 8gb car of ram, soldered of course. $650- max price that this machine is worth, and I was being nice about it. Idk how to search for a decent SSD, so you pick the best one and add to the $650. Wait.....forgot the $500 logo so apple can use your desk as a billboard for free.I can upgrade to a faster drive, I just have no need to do so. I have everything on much faster externals. SSDs are like flash drives, you can only write so many times before it quits or write-protects itself. And its easier to recover data lost on mechanical drives than SSDs. Transplanting a platter(if necessary) is far simpler than recovering from SSDs. Just look it up on google. Its a small flip phone from Verizon. The keys are tiny. It took the place of EnV after the EnV3 came out.Numpads are part of my everyday life. I realize they aren"t for everyone, but all the computers at staples had it standard on all notebooks. The 4K monitor is not for the train scenario. Its not a desktop replacement either. There is no reason a laptop should have less power than a desktop. It may as well be a portable desktop. All batteries are cheap. There is no way around that. No not 3.5s. Actual external ones from Seagate. I suppose the shell houses a 3.5, but it is still USB 3.0. Isn"t that almost as good as SATA?I don"t think I will upgrade to a xeon. How can you say horizontal touch is a nightmare? The iPad turns sideways on the home screen. What you just declared is that the iPad, along with MS surface is an ergonomic nightmare.Of course OSX is not made for touch. It is so old, they ran out of big cat (tiger, snow leopard, Lion) names and switched to american national parks (Yosemite). Some things in w8 are limited when using touch. But apps are specifically designed for touch. Anything that isn"t an app in w8 is a program. Programs are not made for touch (at least not primarily, there could be interface options like with google chrome).I think you are misunderstanding or purposefully misinterpreting. I don"t ride a train. Nor would I bring a monitor or a pointing device if I did.All I need is a USB Xbox controller and my laptop. That would make it easy to play Minecraft. You keep on bringing up different specs and I match them. You asked if there is a similar device with the Mac capabilities. LG G3 was my answer. Its a wonder the Mac in the video is even called a NOTEbook. It"s an overpriced NETbook. And no its not. 1port is not going to outrank 3.I can charge my phone and my iPod and plug in a USB Xbox controller with my three ports. I wouldnt be able to do that with that USBC port. I know peoples needs differ, but $1300 is a rip off.I wasn"t comparing my Acer to this Mac. I was pointing out it has more ports on the motherboard.Metal housing doesn"t mean anything when dropped. Laptops fall, either from gravity slowly pulling or from someone"s careless hands. A computer that thin will get a cracked screen with even a small drop.I get my information the same place as you, the internet.I realize I am not being forced. I just think it is a mad ripoff that they price it so high when the user gets so little.Umm...who"s there? Lol
+Russ Orler• "I don"t think the ram is soldered if it has two slots. And I honestly don"t see the need for 16 GB of ram at this point in time. "- Didn"t find that much out about that particular model.Another reason, why so many models do not help the customer to decide. While Apple may not cater to all needs, I like the simplified lineup. If others could do something similar, even with models it is possible, that would help the customer more than it does now, but I guess that is a tactic anyway.• "Clearly you are more knowledgeable with processors than I am. I commend you for that. Whichever the term, it clocks higher than the box lists it to be. That"s what counts to me."- Those numbers and model numbers can be looked up easily, Toshiba even lists the exact CPU model number on their website, something Apple does not do.That way you can use Ark Intel to look up specifics and find benchmark results. And the TurboBoost feature is available on almost all modern Intel CPUs.• "The way I see it, if one is to spend large sums of money, one should get the moneys worth out of it. "- And one does so with a Mac too, if one"s computational needs go beyond just specs. There is a reason similar specced AND featured computers cost around the same as a comparable Mac.• "Let"s price some things to help justify the price. "- Maybe state your sources and what exact components you used.• "Let"s price the screen of this machine (video) at $150. Let"s upgrade to a core i7 ($303 on amazon)"- That i7, what kind of CPU is that? Have any model number? The M-5Y31 costs 281 USD according to Intel, but I guess Apple gets a discount for ordering tens of thousands of them.• "$25 for the keyboard, a $90 motherboard. Jackass"s trackpad $75 at best. $10 to make the shell out of recycled soda cans. A single 8gb car of ram, soldered of course. $650-"- You forgot the battery.• " Idk how to search for a decent SSD, so you pick the best one and add to the $650."- You didn"t search before, why the need now?• "max price that this machine is worth, and I was being nice about it."• "Wait.....forgot the $500 logo so apple can use your desk as a billboard for free."- That is the Bill Of Materials (BOM), you forgot labour, paying the factory owner (since they have to pay for the machinery, maybe even new ones, energy consumption, building costs, taxes and so on), the transportation of the components to one factory, the transportation of the finished product, the storage of the product, the sale of the product (which includes salaries of the sales staff, the rent for the sales place, the energy bill, taxes), then there is also research and development (R&D), as they built a new form factor, a new keyboard, modified the trackpad and so on.I guess those costs can be marginalised, since you know, reasons.• "I can upgrade to a faster drive, I just have no need to do so. I have everything on much faster externals. SSDs are like flash drives, you can only write so many times before it quits or write-protects itself. "- Did you just compare cheap slow flash modules to more expensive faster ones? How much data do you think you write to your internal HDD?An SSD can withstand writing 2,000 to 3,000 times to it, which would get you 610 TB of data if we use 2,500 write cycles for a 250 GB SSD.To get that much data written to your SSD in one year, you would have to write to it daily 1,7 times its capacity, which would be around 420 GB. Do you think you do that?I have probably around 30 TB of data on several HDDs, I have days when I write 2 TB or more (not to the SSD though), often much less.I just checked, my two internal HDDs and one SSD wrote 477 GB of data in 2d18h, at least 160 GB just for one application storing to one HDD and 38 GB from the SSD to another backup SSD in that same time frame. There will have been other occasions where I wrote to the HDDs, but cannot recall right now.477 - 160 - 38 = 279In the worst case scenario I wrote 279 GB to my 250 GB SSD in 66 hours, which make it around 101 GB per day (which is probably not what happened). With that amount of data daily I can live with my SSD for at least 4 years.By then I will probably have PCIe storage instead of S-ATA 6 Gbps storage.• "And its easier to recover data lost on mechanical drives than SSDs. Transplanting a platter(if necessary) is far simpler than recovering from SSDs. "- And that is where backups come in.I use CarbonCopyCloner to clone my OS SSD daily to another HDD, thus if the SSD fails, I can boot from the HDD in mere minutes and analyse the SSD and then replace it if necessary or clone back to it if possible.I have plenty of data, thus backing up is kinda important, except the data that can be redownloaded or easily re-created.• "Numpads are part of my everyday life. I realize they aren"t for everyone, but all the computers at staples had it standard on all notebooks."- For me numpads are only in use in one or two applications, thus it was not my priority. And even if, it is only for TC entry.• "The 4K monitor is not for the train scenario. Its not a desktop replacement either. There is no reason a laptop should have less power than a desktop. It may as well be a portable desktop. "- If a notebook would have to have as much power as a desktop, it would have to be 10 kg heavier and so on.And why do you again apply your own computational needs to everyone else? Many people can live quite fine with much less CPU power. For them such a 11 kg behemoth would be overkill and not fulfilling their computational needs. You do not need 128 cores of 64 GHz when writing a teleplay or adding numbers or coding an application to monitor your bread consumption.• "All batteries are cheap. There is no way around that."- I know, cheap batteries hold as much charge as those more expensive ones, only not for as long.I guess you have a valid source to back that up?• "No not 3.5s. Actual external ones from Seagate. I suppose the shell houses a 3.5, but it is still USB 3.0. Isn"t that almost as good as SATA?"Yes, 3.5" desktop HDDs, which normally use an S-ATA interface. The actual enclosure uses USB 3.0, which is faster than S-ATA, but since the HDD hardly outperform S-ATA 3.0 Gbps, that does not really matter, as it goes like this:HDD <> S-ATA <> circuit board <> USB 3.0 <> USB 3.0 cable <> computer with USB 3.0 or 2.0 portThus the HDD is the slowest component, again.• "How can you say horizontal touch is a nightmare? The iPad turns sideways on the home screen. What you just declared is that the iPad, along with MS surface is an ergonomic nightmare."- I meant it like this:Imagine your desktop computer display. It is facing you, the display is orientated in a right angle (or almost) to the ground. Now move your arm to touch an element of the display with your finger. Now do that all day. That is the nightmare.A tablet is normally orientated in a way comfortable for the user, but even then, fatigue will get in the way after too long a use.Touchscreen on desktop or notebook computers are a novelty, or you would see much more of them in daily use, constantly.• "Of course OSX is not made for touch. It is so old, they ran out of big cat (tiger, snow leopard, Lion) names and switched to american national parks (Yosemite)."- And Windows Seven is really Windows 6.1, as Windows Vista was version 6.0 and XP was 5.1.The name of an OS is not an indicator of anything other than the imagination of the developers. And since Windows 6.2 and 6.3 are made for touch, but still based on NT, which is from the 1990s, how does the age of an OS basis have anything to do with that? Most of Windows 8 is not made for touch, only a small portion. And as for OS X, if it is such an old OS, and it is now over 15 years old, why does it use new technologies? What was your point? • "Some things in w8 are limited when using touch. But apps are specifically designed for touch. Anything that isn"t an app in w8 is a program. Programs are not made for touch(at least not primarily, there could be interface options like with google chrome)."- Ah, programs and apps are not the same.Luckily I have my Photoshop app and not a Paintbrush program.• "I think you are misunderstanding or purposefully misinterpreting. I don"t ride a train. Nor would I bring a monitor or a pointing device if I did.All I need is a USB Xbox controller and my laptop. That would make it easy to play Minecraft."- I was slightly exaggerating, since you berated the internal display"s resolution and mentioned an external display.I guess you are confused about what you want from something, and that confusion is applied to everyone"s needs.• "You keep on bringing up different specs and I match them. You asked if there is a similar device with the Mac capabilities. LG G3 was my answer."- You match them? Where? First you compared your 2010 Acer D255 to a 2015 MacBook and mentioned it having more features than that MacBook, which I easily found not to be true. Then you compare a smartphone to a notebook. How would you even compare them? You mean the 2.5 GHz quad core CPU using a different microarchitecture is an indicator of being faster? It does not have to run the same kind of code as the MacBook does.Shall I remind you of your CPU knowledge?• "Its a wonder the Mac in the video is even called a NOTEbook. It"s an overpriced NETbook."- And yet it offers much more than those netbooks did when they were replaced by the MacBook Air and later the MacBook Air copies called Ultrabooks. And you haven"t found any alternative yet with the same or similar specs and features to that MacBook being that much cheaper. One day you will, in ten or twenty years maybe.• "And no its not. 1port is not going to outrank 3.I can charge my phone and my iPod and plug in a USB Xbox controller with my three ports. I wouldnt be able to do that with that USBC port. "- Yes, for that you would need an adapter, which of course can do much more than what you stated. But I see your point, I guess you have different needs than others, and that is the sole reason that MacBook should oblige to them.• "I know peoples needs differ, but $1300 is a rip off."- Then present the alternative, made out of the same kind of material, using a similar HiDPI display with an IPS panel, at the same weight and size, with the same kind of battery life and the same or more specs and features for that much less money. If you can do that, you can claim that rip off thingy. If not, you are just providing empty statements.• "I wasn"t comparing my Acer to this Mac. I was pointing out it has more ports on the motherboard."- Albeit much slower ones. That one single USB-C port is much more capable than your two USB 2.0 ports and the on 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port. You need a dongle if you want to take advantage for now, but the day will come, that USB-C is adopted more widely than it is now.• "Metal housing doesn"t mean anything when dropped. Laptops fall, either from gravity slowly pulling or from someone"s careless hands. A computer that thin will get a cracked screen with even a small drop."- We will see. I have had two MacBook Pros and one MacBook and one iBook.I also have one iPad and one iPhone.I dropped them plenty on different surfaces. No display cracks yet in ten years.• "I get my information the same place as you, the internet."- Which internet service do you use then? Gopher? Usenet? Email? WWW?• "I realize I am not being forced. I just think it is a mad ripoff that they price it so high when the user gets so little."- Again, you apply your own computational needs and cannot fathom other people"s needs. This machine is not for me either, that Android phone is not for me, that Alienware desktop computer is not for me.Do I go around and apply my needs to everyone and tell the ones interested in those devices on videos about those devices that they are overpriced and shit?• "Umm...who"s there? Lol"- The one with gun.
Why would i put my money on this piece of trash?
+super dugAre you saying it`s bad or durable?
+Jacob Ciaston durable. ive had a samsung chromebook 1 for about 2 years now. dropped it countless times, sat on it, spilled shit on it, still good as new lol....this macbook wouldnt last a week
dude its too thin for everything.... i dont like this.
+antonio jackson And yet many people will use it for everything they need it for.But then again, they were forced to use it.
This is a $450 laptop.
+Alan Wake Then show us that 450 USD notebook you think it is.Can you do that please?
my 2010 laptop was so thin like the macbook and had usb ports and all stuff
wow, very wow. the laptop costs 100 euros dont know maybe 300 dollars? and the macbook costs 1299 dollars? and you want to have a retina display for 300 dollars? i have just said, that MY netbook, the acer aspire one, which i have here at home has almost the same thin like the macbook.
I DO NOT understand the concept of ultra thin laptops! I mean, since WHEN is the thickness a problem? I"d rather have a sturdier, more powerful machine, for a potentially lower production cost, than a way too thin and expensive laptop. As long as a laptop feels sturdy, isn"t as thick as a brick, and has its weight explained by its performance, there is NO reason whatsoever to make or buy a laptop like the new MacBook. In my opinion at least...
+gustavlp And yet everyone is forcing you, except the ones having different computational needs than you, as they simply disagree.
This is the worst laptop ever invented... the only reason this piece of crap is made is to suck money out of die hard apple fans... but what can I say that will prevent people from buying it... nothing. It has to be good cuz apple made it right? And let"s face it, whoever buys it is ganna regret it, and if they dont, enjoy your laptop beta.
jealous? or why care about what other people buy? no life?!
I"m jealous of the way their marketing sales are for all the people buying this junk worth 8 times the actual cost of it... don"t believe me? Go research where apple gets their hardware made. BINGO, CHINA! I mean I"m not jealous about owning one, i can go pick one up anytime, it"s just, it gets me thinking how so many people in our generation are so easy to manipulate. Idk I"m really happy with my asus ultra book I paid 600 bucks for that can do wayyyy more than this specific apple product. Your call go get it if you can"t resist. All I"m stating is my opinion, that it"s a piece of crap.
